The NPL is coming again to the Pinball Gallery !!!

We are pleased to announce we're going to be hosting a National Pinball League (NPL) tournament at the Pinball Gallery for the second time on Saturday January 21, 2012.  The first NPL tournament that we hosted was on Sunday June 13, 2010.

The NPL evolved from the former P3 (Professional Pinball Players Association) that has conducted pinball tournaments in the PA/NJ/NY area for the last few years.  They've run great competitive pinball tournaments at the Allentown, PA and Rochester, NY pinball shows and also conduct the more casual Monthly Master Tournaments in various locations (both public and private) in the tri-state area.  Myself (Bill D.) and few other regular players at the Pinball Gallery (Scott S., Steve M., Gabe P., Dom C., and Eric M.) have travelled to and participated in these tournaments and they are a lot of fun.  Especially the Monthly Masters Tournaments where no one is eliminated and you get to play with a bunch of different people and on a bunch of different machines.

Here are the details of the upcoming NPL tournament at the Pinball Gallery: 

  • Date:  Saturday January 21, 2012
  • Time:
    • noon - Doors open (arrive early, sign in, practice, etc.)
    • 2:00 - Tournament starts (play "qualifying round" versus different people, in different groups, on different machines)
    • ~5:00-6:00 - Break for dinner (food/drinks will be provided by the Pinball Gallery, once again we will be having Scott Skelton's "award-winning" Texas-style BBQ)
    • ~6:00-8:00 - Tournament continues (players compete in the "final rounds" in a single group for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th place)
    • ~8:00-8:30 - Awards
  • Cost: $15 per person (covers food, drink, snacks, and awards).  Machines are set on coin play.
  • Registration:  To participate, you must access the NPL website at www.nationalpinballleague.com and first register with the NPL.  NPL registration costs $5, if not already registered.  After registering, you then logon to the NPL website and register for the 1/21/2012 tournament at the Pinball Gallery and pay the $15 entry fee through the NPL website.
    • Note:  The Pinball Gallery will still be open to the public on Saturday 1/21/2012 for our normal hours noon-9:00pm.  Walk-in customers will still be welcome to come in and play any machines that are open (only 6 machines at a time should be in play by the tournament).  However, to participate in the tournament, registration must be done in advance via the NPL website.
  • Limits:  Participation in the tournament is currently limited to 24 people, given the available space we have at the Pinball Gallery.

If you are interested in playing in this tournament, it is recommended that you sign up ASAP, as we expect all of the available spots to fill up prior to the tournament.  The last NPL tournament we hosted sold-out quickly.

6/13/2010 NPL Tournament Results

The NPL Tournament at the Pinball Gallery on 6/13/2010 was a great success.  All 24 slots were filled.  The food (BBQ provided by Scott Skelton) was great.  A good time was had by all.
